My tire went flat on my mercedes c230 kompressor and when I put the spare on I used the longer lug nuts when?

later I noticed they were supposed to be the shorter ones provided.. now when I turn or stop I can hear popping. Note: when I tried driving with the longer ones my car would not drive and could barely turn I drove with them in the parking lot trying to park. Can anyone tell me if they think I have damaged anything? Thank you!
