How do I start DJing at clubs?

I really want to start DJing clubs and stuff in the Minneapolis area. I have no real experience, but have been a musician for 10+ years and after the past year or so got heavy into electronica music and just want to be the guy supplying the awesome music. Be in charge of the atmosphere. So how do you get things like this started? Good computer? I really dont know if you just set up a computer and press play and mix songs together as it goes or what. How do you get experience? Thanks.
