Opinion on drug legalization, from a moral standpoint?

I am an atheist and I understand that every individual chooses their own morality, no matter what they might say. As far as drug legalization is concerned, I am all for it. I think it is an enormous waste of tax payers' money that could be much better spent in other ways. Prohibition does not work. We should have learned that lesson 100 years ago; but, we didn't.
