For instance, if I read something 1 time at the normal speed (and get 100% comprehension(, but read it really fast (but not skipping anything and got total recall, would that translate into complete knowledge of the text?) I had Lasik surgery 5 months ago. My right eye was corrected for distance and my left eye for reading. Vision has stabilized with the following attributes: Vision good most of the time but by the end of the day, my eyes are a litle tired and distance vision is a bit blurry--in addition to this, there sometimes appears to be competiton between my eyes for focus (again only at the end of the day). Resort placed an unauthorized charge on my credit card. What can I do?

I recently stayed at a resort for a wedding. During our stay, a neighbor called to complain about noise. When I checked out, the manager on duty told me that I was being charged for the neighbor's room because they complained and the resort had comped their room. I did not agree to this charge and I never signed an incidental agreement for charges to my card. The agreement states that additional charges can only be made for damages or changes to the number of guests. The resort already had my credit card number as I had used it for the deposit. They have charged my card without my authorization. Talks with both the manager and the General Manager were fruitless. I am wondering two things: 1 - Can the resort legally charge a guest for someone else's stay? 2 - What recourse do I have to prevent paying for this charge?

Are stretch marks a big deal to men?

I am 19 and I got hideous stretch marks from my waist's sides up to the mid-portions of my ***. I'm a swimming athlete and my team mates + coach saw them already but none of them have made a comment. Recently, my brother and my Mom were petrified when they saw my marks. I always thought these marks are normal especially that as a kid, I gained weight and then as I grew older like now, my body has trimmed significantly in terms of size. I'm really slim now but they're still there. I am worried that they are a big turn off to guys. I do not have children yet. Never conceived. It's all because of weight loss. I'm really conscious now and am willing to do anything to hide them during swimming practises and swimming parties where my friends will be. Of course it's not because I'm being superficial. Hiding wiring to baseboard heaters?

I am replacing some baseboard heaters and the wiring is running up through the floor to the heaters but cold is coming up from our unheated crawl space and the wire stub is very short and hard to manage especially since there are two cables because there are two heaters in the room connected in parallel. I am redoing the walls and insulation as well so I have the option of running the wiring up through the wall bottom plate and hiding it in the wall and so the insulation would stop some of the draft, but do I use an electrical box or pull it through the drywall. I suppose if I come through the wall I can allow extra length and push it back into wall to secure baseboard to the wall and seal up the hole against the cold where it comes up through the bottom plate. Is this the most efficient way? Any comments?

Wake up call about diabeties.?

I got very ill a while back, i had fell in my home almost 2 years ago, after that i had pain develop in my lower, back, back of thigh, and back leg down to my foot, at the time i did not know what it was, the pain became horrific, after about 6 to 8 months i was having numbing, stinging, sharp, ichy pains in the soles of my feet and toes only i could not set, i could not stand, and if i got in bed it was 30 mins i decided to go to doctor he examines me good heard my symtoms and told me i most likely had sciatica nerve damages that all my symtoms fit the pain, i am over weight i know this, he told me that diabeties, also can contribute to same such pain whice i could easly develope over some time from this same problem due to nerve damage/ poor circulation and a host of other health problems that was my wake up call! i knew i always felt sluggishm weak, sleepy, and had know energy to get from bed , and clean my home do anything even cook food for my husband, my mother had diebeties i saw how are feet turned blackish purple, from poor circulation, and how she suffered so badly itchy dried skin, thinning hair, nausea, and a host of other elements so here few years back my eldest sister have now been diagnosed also and her son, iam so scared so i started a diet plan for my self i now have cut out fatty foods, no sweets, no suger are grease, nothing fried, no dairy products whice they say dairy products are the worst enemy of diabetics( like ice cream) etc,, i dont drink alcohol, are smoke i stopped eating eggs whice i loved fried egges in the morning and ered toast and gl of milk now i eat in the morning one piece of dried toast, and a egg white only not the yellow part of the egg any more i try drink 8 fliud oz oF water every hour as indicated no juice any more cause beleive it are not juice ARE not good for a diabetic at all i have cut my diet down to about 900 calories aday i have for lunch one small peice of chicken , green salad fresh fruits and same for dinner cause eating to much junk foods and just plan eating to much over works the kidneys whice will make the not work properly when do i out to eat i choose small portions if the right foods to eat you can train your self to eat healthy and eat small portions also i just decided i did not wont to be like my mother she loved to eat and she would not give it up but i still loved my mother so much, but if u ever seen some one suffer with the desease you will change also. also should make a good excercise plan even as simply as walking for 30 to min to 1 hour is good help circulation also my husband is into yoga so each day we do yoga and i do some sort of spine excercise in the beginning its torture but later u will be happy you did it to helps u bend easy. so the reason i am writing all this infromation here is to get to people thats also had a wake up call and is trying to change their lifes so if anyone knows any forums online dealing with weight lost/ diabeties please send your information to me would be gladly appreciated right now i weight about 220 my goal is to start with losing about 45 pounds so would be helpful to have someone on my side on here i can talk with cause dieting is not easy ecspecially when ur giving up all your favorites and i use to enjoyin eating its so hard makes u want to cry but i am determine and my husband supports me also 100% anyone esle have any similer stories please dont hesistate to share i need all the encouragement i can muster, thanks so much will be looking forward to reading some good comments, and some more stories like mine wheither it be male are female all welcomed thanks and a GOD BLESS!.

Implants? What size should I get and what can you tell me from experience?

Well I don't have them but my aunt that I am really close to just got them last May. I will tell you what I know about hers and what she told me. She is pretty skinny. I would say about 140lbs and 5'8" and she was 23 when she got it done. She used to be heavier but when she lost weight, her got a lot smaller. She is a very confident person but just wasnt happy about that one part. She was a small B. She got the saline filled implants and they told her she would be a large C but is actually a D. Sorry I dont know what CC it is. I know they took the one CC size and then filled it a little bit more. She is very very happy with them and loves the way they look. The only downside is that she said it hurt really bad. Where she got it done they dont put you all the way under for the surgery and just use a general anesthetic and she said she could still feel some of it and it hurt a lot. I've read that some treatments for spastic CP include Botox treatments to loosen the muscles with some successes. This is treatment that has not been highly touted because the success is very individual. My daughter has CP, she is ambulatory and I've had success going through Shriner's hospitals. Don't know if you live in the US but they do serve children worldwide. Therapies for children with CP are time consuming and unfortunately are necessary in order to keep the muscles limber and to prevent both atrophy and contractures. I wish there were a better way but a consultation at a Shriner's hospital is your best bet. Good luck in your endeavors.

Panasonic has had a blu ray disc player each year being recommend as one of the best by Home Theater Magazine for many years. I still use my first generation Panasonic blu ray disc player model BD-10, it is 4 years old and have played over 300 blu ray disc movies without one problem. I also purchased 2 Panasonic model BD-35 for christmas present to my kids and that too have had no problems. The latest model from Panasonic is BD-85 and that too is recommend by home theater magazine. Sony is not a very reliable player. I had purchased 2 DVD players when they first came out model 7000 and the 7700 the following year and with a cost of $1,100 each and they did not last more than 3 years. Same thing with the first HDTV by Sony 34" CRT for the price of $6,400 and that too only lasted less than 3 years. Hope this will help you out.

Hey, I had relatively no pain the day of my surgery whether that was due to drugs or not I have no idea. Anyway day 2 was pretty rough and I continued to experience worse pain, sore gums and an increase in swelling. Now day 6 after the extractions I feel no pain whatsoever, a little uncomfortable, yes. Here is my problem, I can pinpoint a spot in my mouth where I am most uncomfortable, I have a terrible taste in my mouth and today stitches started to come out and then something that appeared to be shaped like a seed but was solid and not blood fell out later. I know that the blackest night books are meant to be read together as in I shouldn't read all of the blackest night story ark book then read all of the green lantern blackest night one then all of the green lantern corps blackest night book because the events weren't meant to be read that way. Pain relievers and why they don't seem to work?

When I experience pain pertaining to headaches and muscle ache no form of over the counter pain relievers seem to work. Why is it that I can take take two to three 500 mg tablets or capsules and they don't seem to calm the pain at all? I have even taken up to five 500 mg pain relievers and they seem to calm the pain at about 85% relief wise. Could someone with medical experience please help me out?

New caulking "melting" in shower as soon as it gets wet?

Recently installed a corner shower and used DAP Kwik seal Tub and Tile adhesive caulk to seal all the corners. Today Turned on the shower and the caulking all kinda melted around the drain and at the base. I even let it sit for about 5 days before using it. Breakthrough Bleeding because of Stress?

Hi, I have a gyno appointment in a week but i cannot wait that long, and plus, i had with my boyfriend today which probably wasnt the smartest move. The thing is, I was scheduled to have a tonsilectomy for July 10th. I am on the pill and had my period a couple of weeks before the surgery. About another week later, the week of the actual surgery, i got breakthrough bleeding that lasted as long as a period would and it started off with blood. It felt like i got my period again, even though i had just got it a week before. I was really worried because i NEVER experience breakthru bleeding and I have been on the pill for almost 2 years, so its not because my body isnt used to it.... My boyfriend said i was super stressed out that week. I have started a new pack of pills and i am 8 active pills in, with no breakthrough bleeding, but i am afraid to have in fear that the pill isnt strong enough or something. My boyfriend and i are anxious and i can hardly wait another week to ask my gyno this question. My question is, is it possible my breakthrough bleeding was because of the stress, even though I have been stressed before and it's never happened..? And if I have this month should I be worried about the pill not doing its job? All input helps. thanks.

ugh I hear u. Im in a really nice neighborhood and I have 9 month old. I see it all the time too. For some reason they decided to put a geared to income lowrise apartment building on a street of all $300,000 and up houses. Its retarded because its all of those peoples young children running the streets while they're working and have nobody to watch them after school. I see a 9 year old carrying around a baby here and the rest of the kids are between 3 and 7 too. I hear the older kids teaching the younger kids swear words... its terrible. Everytime they see an adult they try and seek attention because they dont get enough from their own parents. I'm guilty of being a bystander too. I have not called CAS (I'm canadian) on these parents either. I just refuse to allow my own son to participate in such behavior when he becomes that age... we're better parents than that. Just set your own boundaries and stick to it with your own family.

Bilateral upper arm pain without injury?

I have a raft of chronic pain/rheumatic conditions incl fibromyalgia, lupus and myofascial pain syndrome, but this particular problem is new and isn't fitting the pattern for any of those conditions which I've had for a long time, and know plenty about, so trying to figure out other possible causes. I apparently do have a single trigger point in my upper R arm, but while the pain of that was localised and caused bone pain too, again, what I'm suffering now is different in that it's both upper arms, and feels almost as if I'd pulled or torn the muscles really badly and continuously yet I've not lifted anything heavy (at least not with both arms), and anti-inflammatories/narcotics (nor anything else!) aren't alleviating the pain. No redness or swelling - just an interminable dull ache that is worse with movement and at its absolute worst on waking in the morning but which eases off after an hour or so to a lesser ache which lasts all day. Any ideas?

She has been eligable to get her license back for over a month, but her doctor is a hack and refuses to fill out the forms necessary to allow her to drive again even though even to his standards she has far ped all the requirements. her current lawyer works for the company that provided her therapy and is just as impossible to gain help from as her doctor is.
